Jenny Tillotson, sensorial conceptor, researcher at Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), in partenership DIAM Europe and AC2i / OlfaCom achieved the installation of the ’intelligent’ second skin dress it is a concept dress providing a new fragrance delivery method involving interaction with the body’s motion (via nanotecnology), the fragrant rainbow ( translation of ’Arc en Ciel’) becomes an integral part of the sensorial experience By reacting to the various emotional states of the wearer, through sight and smell, the scents’ spectrum of the dress creates a new olfactive experience. 

 

To illustrate the process, touch screens and OlfaCom Technology, the only one capable to manage this from of diffusion, allow fragrance delivery that correspond to the dress color.

OlfaCom and Quest International Fragrances presented Synaesthesia (Nuclear Families), a new installation of video, photography and smell by Alex Sandover. Sandover contintued his investigation into the relationship between sensory and subjective experience. A 15ft photomural depicted a british dining room of the mid-1950s. Visible through the doorway and pass-thru window are video projections of a woman preparing a meal. As she cleans, cooks and serves, related smells pierce the gallery air, periodically infusing the space with smells of sage, bleach or apple pie. Sandover incorporated these olfactory elements to interrupt the privilige of vision and offer, instead, a synesthetic experience where multiple sensations join and commingle.

Alex Sandover is a 31-year-old artist living in London. Currently compleating his studies at The Royal College of Art, Sandover has exhibited in group shows in europe and the UK. His most recent solo exhibition took place in The Green Gallery in Geneva last year.
